Chemical Safety Training

CEPN’s Chemical Safety Training equips workers and managers across the global electronics supply chain with practical tools and resources for safer chemical management—grounded in a workplace culture that informs, consults, and actively engages workers.

The Program’s objectives are to:

  • Disseminate best practices in process chemical management to upstream suppliers;
  • Reduce worker exposures to hazardous chemicals in the electronics industry;
  • Strengthen worker safety and engagement; and
  • Develop capacity for local service providers and in-house personnel to deliver impactful and cost-effective training.

The program includes:

  • Chemical Safety Training Materials: Easily accessible, deployment ready training for workers and managers in multiple languages;
  • Qualified Trainers: A global network of organizations and individuals qualified to deliver in-person and live webinar training; and
  • Supplier Facility Recognition: A public registry to recognize supplier facilities that have implemented the training.

Chemical Safety Training Materials

CEPN’s chemical safety training modules for workers and managers were developed with funding from the Initiative for Global Solidarity, a program of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and in partnership with Labor Solutions.

The training is available in two formats and six languages:

  1. In-Person and Live Webinar Training: CEPN has a network of qualified trainers to deliver the in-person and live webinar training across the electronics supply chain.
  2. Interactive Digital Training (E-Learning): Training is available on three platforms -- atingi (free and publicly available), Labor Solutions (with subscription), and Quizrr (with subscription).

The training includes topics such as workers’ right to know about chemical hazards and risks, hazard communication, control approaches, emergency response, and methods to promote worker engagement.

Qualified Trainers

Through the Qualified Trainer Program, CEPN has built a growing global network of organizations and individuals qualified to deliver in-person and live webinar training. To find a Qualified trainer, visit the link below.

CEPN welcomes organizations specializing in environmental health and safety, chemical safety, and training, as well as individuals from within electronics suppliers and brands to apply for the Qualified Trainer Program. Organizations and individuals who meet the Program criteria and complete CEPN's Train-the-Trainer session can become Qualified Trainers.

Chemical Safety Training – Supplier Recognition

Facilities that deliver CEPN’s Chemical Safety Training demonstrate a clear commitment to worker engagement and strong chemical management practices. CEPN Supplier Recognition highlights these facilities in a public registry which serves as a resource for electronics companies seeking responsible suppliers.

More information and a list of participating supplier facilities is available at the link below.
